As president of Mneme, in 2017 I assignee of an announcement of Banca del Monte di Lombardia Foundation bank with Melancholy Heritage Project. The aim of the project is to identify the good practices of cultural enhancement of the cemetery spaces between UK and Italy through participation to activities in cemeteries, collection of materials, feedback, interviews, meeting with local stakeholders and cemetery management. The project finished at AGM 2017 in Athens. Thanks to the support of Foundation bank and many organizations such as: London (The Royal Parks, The Friends of Brompton Cemetery, The Friends of Tower Hamlets Cemetery Park, The Friends of Nunhead Cemetery…), Bristol (Arnos Vale Cemetery), Bologna (Municipality of Bologna, Institutions Museums and Museum of Risorgimento of Bologna, ASCE-Association of Significant Cemeteries of Europe), Genoa (Municipality and Museum of Risorgimento of Genoa, ARCI Genoa), Turin (AFC Torino S.p.A). The exchange on the field about policies, methods and tools that cemetery management used in cemeteries helped me to think about the future of these spaces, especially in relationship to (and for the benefit) today community.
